Google Instant effects on Adwords
About 3 weeks has gone by since Google Instant’s launch. How has it affected your Adwords ads? The thought behind Google Instant interface is to increase user engagement from their search service based on predictive searches.
According to what’s being mentioned on Google’s Adwords blog, Adwords advertiser is expected to see an increase or decrease in impression levels. Google suggested that, it may “ultimately” improve the quality of clicks.
Although we have not reach a full month since the launch, we had observed some shift in the ads that we manage for this month as compared to last month.
We pick out a few just for comparison, below are the “before and after Google Instant” and how does it affect some of our managed ads thus far.
Google instant and Adwords before and after
Overall observation:
- Clicks to the ads went up.
- Impression of the ad went up or down dependent on how optimized or broad the keywords used.
- Most if not all of our ads had an increase in click through rate (CTR) with the exception of those which we are still optimizing.
- Cost per click (CPC) came down further.
Looks like we have to monitor for a while more to see how we are to optimize the ads given the change, as well as to manage the advertising cost of our clients.
